Season 4 opens with the squad investigating a double homicide related to a series of home invasions in the Hollywood Hills. Elsewhere, Sanchez tries to rejoin the team after his suspension, and Raydor makes a fateful decision regarding Rusty.
A dead body pops out of a trunk at the end of a car chase, leading the team to investigate tangled connections involving a celebrity chef, a pediatric psychiatrist and his wife, and a bankruptcy lawyer. Meanwhile, Rusty tries to identify a murder victim.
The team investigates the slaying of a supermodel who was closely connected to an arrogant celebrity photographer. Elsewhere, Raydor and Rusty are both served subpoenas due to their ties to a murder case.
Buzz Watson discovers a body during his first drive-along as a reserve officer. The discovery not only jeopardizes a big-bucks wedding, but also Flynn and Provenza's plans to take the squad to a Fourth of July baseball game.
A complex gangland shooting is investigated, and Det. Amy Sykes focuses on protecting the identity of a witness. Meanwhile, Rusty tries to manage new information about a case, and Flynn works up courage to take his relationship to the next level.
A pile of bones is discovered, and the squad discovers the victim had a troubled past. Meanwhile, as Rusty continues snooping into the Alice case with help from a new friend, he also gets drawn into helping Provenza make a big move.
Two officers are killed in a shooting, putting the unit together with deputy chief Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney) to find the sole witness and crack the case. Meanwhile, Rusty secretly gathers information to support his Alice investigation.
An old kidnapping case is revisited when new information surfaces, pushing the division into a partnership with a possibly crooked FBI agent. Elsewhere, Rusty has a breakthrough in his Alice Herrera investigation, but he begins to question his friendship with T.J.
The division investigates an online video of a bloodied, half-naked man walking down a street with a gun. Meanwhile, Rusty at last finds Alice Herrera's brother and reaches out to Sharon for help.
The son of a tough judge is murdered. The Major Crimes staffers comb through the judge's current caseload for clues, leading them to a motorcycle gang that might be connected to the vanishing of a 13-year-old boy.
