Reba McKenzie put her own dreams on hold to raise a family, while her husband pursued his music career, but after his cheating has led to divorce, she starts to question the wisdom of that decision. With her mother and two kids in tow, Reba leaves Nashville in her rearview mirror and heads to Malibu to start a new chapter in her life. Although she feels like an outsider on the West Coast, she relies on the support of her family and the help of her new music agent, Geoffrey, to finally start the music career that she set aside when she was younger.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin are fun to watch, but they don't have much to work with in Malibu Country, a largely generic fish-out-of-water sitcom.

McEntire's fans will probably enjoy seeing her in anything, but it would be nice for her to get a sitcom that's as good as she gives. Go to Full Review

The charismatic country star and Tomlin's droll Lillie Mae, who successfully balances her sharp tongue with surprising softness, are entertaining, and the honky-tonk humor should please Reba fans. Go to Full Review
