Was the late Rik Mayall, who played the mad dad in the first series, missed? Yes, of course. Without him, is this still one of the best new sitcoms of recent times? Yes, again. Go to Full Review

Man Down takes place in a universe where the concept of political correctness actually exists... Very funny, regardless. Go to Full Review

The ratio of wit to puerility was too off balance and the end degenerated into an appalling, smutty farce. Go to Full Review

The ridiculousness is perfectly judged and there are nice subplots for the supporting cast. Go to Full Review

Dave C 07/22/2021 Better laughs, and great interactions between characters See more 03/22/2021 Could not stop laughing, season 2 was very funny, not as great as season 1 See more 09/20/2019 I was worried that after Rik Mayall, the actor who played the dad, passed away, the show wouldn't be as good. He was absolutely the best character. But season two was almost better in a way, though certainly not due to the loss. The sheer inanity of the show was cranked up, and Aunt Nesta was a great addition to the cast of characters. This season didn't try to take itself seriously very much and focused solely on being silly, perhaps in tribute to Mayall. The wedding ceremony in the final episode was one of the zaniest things I've ever seen. See more Read all reviews
