This miniseries tells the story of the FBI's hunt for the Unabomber in the 1990s. Agent Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerld, a fresh-faced criminal profiler with the agency, faces an uphill battle in tracking the infamous criminal but also has to fight against the bureaucracy of the Unabom Task Force (UTF), of which he is a part. Although Fitz pioneers the use of forensic linguistics, others in the UTF dismiss his maverick ideas and new approaches. Ultimately, though, his new techniques help him identify and capture the Unabomber.

It's a story so outrageous and affecting that this middle-tier crime drama remains compelling viewing despite its numerous flaws. Go to Full Review

As the series goes along, it becomes more and more of a true ensemble, and I especially liked the way actors like Nick Searcy, Marley Shelton, Becky Ann Baker and Brad William Henke add depth to the Rudolph side of the story. Go to Full Review

Deadly Games would be a solid watch if it devoted itself to just Richard and Eric's inversely proportional trajectories... But Sodroski and Dinner rightly recognize that Kathy Scruggs' story also needs to be told. Go to Full Review
Glenn Garvin Reason Online 09/18/2020
The stupidly-titled Manhunt: Deadly Games is a crisp, absorbing recounting of the search for the bomber who killed two people and injured 150 others at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. Go to Full Review

Some Guy F @RT75171520 12/05/2024 An interesting story told very poorly. With lots of melodrama, falsehoods and cornball acting. See more Go F @RT34186097 12/02/2024 Manhunt deadly games has been scrubbed from every streaming service…. Try finding it. See more 05/20/2021 This show is heartbreaking and heart warming all at the same time. Jewell is literally my idea of the perfect man and Cameron plays him absolutely brilliantly- gotta love a man who can be a hitman(umbrella Academy), serial killer(mindhunter) and a Mama's boy. Must watch show. See more 03/18/2021 I really really wanted to like this show. It's flaws are immediately obvious--wooden acting, dramatic license, terrible writing and poor editing--but the story has a gravitas that keeps pulling you back in. But once the initial episodes begin to fade, there really isn't any draw left.. It's not only completely unbelievable, it's also more fiction than fact. See more 01/23/2021 I loved this series. So well played and insightful! I want my family to watch as there are important moral, ethical life lessons! See more 01/19/2021 This show is one of the best I've ever seen. Based on a true story, it reveals how people can treat you like a hero one moment, then all turn on you the next, and how the FBI and media can manipulate the truth and destroy reputations and lives. It reveals the mind of a serial killer and how they know how to manipulate and turn people against each other to get what they want. We all can learn a lot from this series. See more Read all reviews
