Critic Reviews for Manifest Season 2

All Critics (4) | Top Critics (1)

The plotting is reaching Lost levels of complexity and weirdness but the thematic issue that has made Manifest so satisfying -- the implications of being unchanged for years while the world has moved on around you -- continue to reverberate.

Manifest remained true to itself: It began as a garbage show, and it will end as a garbage show, and it will live or die as a garbage show.

Audience Reviews for Manifest: Season 2

Totally hooked one of the best mystery dramas I've seen can't wait till season 3 is available in Australia
  • Apr 08, 2021
All the buildup from season 1, and it completely fizzled out. This season feels like an entirely different group of writers wrote and entirely different show. Feels loosely related to season 1.

The most overrated series. The season one just scrapped through. But this one??? Well the soul is just not there. Scripts seems to be written on the sets. I mean how can one explain this stuff? This shows how a person who is lucky can survive without talent. The makers have the guts to churn out a sickening plot one after another. I pray Manifest does not have season 3.The makers do not have any clue of the premises. The characters of Grace and Olive has the same tone from season 1 no refinement no maturity. It irritates sometimes. And so is the angle between Jared and Micky. There is no progress. No character study. Nothing. Same ramblings again and again. This could have been good, this could have taken us to the premises of a good sci fi thriller but comes close to a nauseating sick soap opera!

I have just watched the season finale of Manifest in the UK and found myself holding my breath throughout the final two episodes. I'm not a tv snob, I enjoy what I enjoy and it's fair to say I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this second series. The finale set up lots of plot lines for a third season so fingers crossed it gets recommissioned.

NBC has brought back their hit supernatural drama 'Manifest' for another go Season 1 had several passengers disappear on Flight 828 in a cosmic storm only to have them arrive back home 5 1/2 years without them knowing it certain loved ones gave up hope and moved on with the passengers readjusting to their lives they left behind an investigation then went underway to determine what happened exactly and a few of the survivors started experiencing strange abilities by hearing voices from themselves and having visions called 'callings' Ben, his son Cal, Ben's sister Michaela, a doctor name Sannvi tried to piece together the mystery and came across a shocking revelation...the ones who made it back tragically have an expiration date on June 2nd, 2024 apparently now everyone is living on borrowed time the government secretly has someone in charge called the Major wanting to locate and weaponize their gifts Season 2 opens up with the tense cliffhanger of Michaela's buddy officer in a gun struggle and she ends up getting shot barely surviving, Ben's wife Grace is pregnant, and it's revealed that the physician's psychiatrist is actually the Major trying to pry information from her about the plane A newcomer Zeke had a calling on his own in a cave but what's his connection to the plane? More passengers are located from flight 828 and maybe they can find a way to avoid the death date Things get difficult though when there are people out there who are narrow minded and fearful that they target the passengers as abominations, unnatural, or ungodly There will always be those who exploit a tragic event or bank off of it as well as those whom are close minded The finale leads to a terrifying gathering of 3 shadows Cal sees in his dreams and Zeke might be facing an inevitable fate with this cliffhanger Saanvi commits a terrible act against her better judgement and it looks as if new mysteries will be unfolded about Flight 828can these passengers still beat the death date or are they doomed to expire like the callings say?I really do want to know what else is ahead for Season 3'Manifest' is becoming more and more interesting with it's plot reveals
