Critic Reviews for Marco Polo Season 2

It's all just a matter of perspective who your hero is. "Marco Polo" knows it, and that's why season 2 works so well.

The season premiere of Marco Polo is lacking in action and heavy on the setup, but the setup is promising.

Pushing its hero sideways and making more of its Asian roots won't solve all of this drama's problems. But at least the signs are there now that Marco Polo might yet live up to its promise.

Still not a great series, Marco Polo continued to impress with its grandeur and scope and the production levels are still a big notch in the plus column.

Marco Polo season 2 has several moving parts to its plot, but the team of writers and directors prove once again that they can handle a show of this scale.

The potential for converts isn't even up for discussion as Marco Polo delves into its byzantine, stylish second season, which has just enough nifty set pieces and cool characters to compensate (barely) for a humdrum wartime plot.

Follows up on a solid first season, keeps you engaged until the end.
  • Oct 11, 2020
Well acted and visually stunning. The second season can be better than the first, just spectacular ... I just don't give 5 stars because of the ending that ends in an unexpected way, they canceled too soon !!! One of the best series ever!!!
  • Sep 20, 2020
Overly constructed, not only losing its plot, but also its audience.
  • Aug 26, 2020
World scale, world of talents, locations, dialogues, superb.
  • May 17, 2020
This was brilliant. Every bit as good as GOT, Vikings and The Last Kingdom. Well acted and visually stunning. It should never have cancelled. Bad decision. Some people wouldn't know a good historical fiction series if it hog-tied them with rope and violated them from behind (storyline reference).

Loved this series ... left me wanting more! Great to see so many strong female characters and multi dimensional personalities

Beautifully done historical drama, well-acted, costumes and settings are gorgeous.

Great show i think people are being to critical of it as theres not many shows of this quality out right now. Its a shame that there isn't a third season as i binge watched this entire show in 2 days. I didn't think it would be good at first but once i started watching it i really got sold. I don't care too much if its historically accurate as long as it keeps its entertainment factor but everybody thinks that if its not 100% historically accurate it isnt worth watching and to that i say you have highly unrealistic expectations if you want a decent tv show. If thats what you're looking for go watch a boring documentary.

BREAK OUT THE POPCORN AND HOLD ALL CALLS! "MARCO POLO" and the single episode related "100 EYES" Will not lose your attention. Marco Polo was a major binger for me in 2016. Im not usually into these type of Netflix genre. However, I was Sucked in iediately when I watched "100 Eyes" before I got started on the actual limited series; " Marco Polo".
