Tazorora M Sep 3 This series captures the well known theme of whether the evil means justifies the noble ends. Babalwa, a dedicated Christian and former police officer, has her faith and convictions tested when her daughter is diagnosed with cancer and requires an expensive surgery that her family cannot afford. As a security guard for a cash-in-transit security company she decides to rob her employer with the assistance of some unexpected people - her fellow congregants. In a gripping thriller which constantly questions whether she has transformed from a saint to a beast, she is forced to make decisions which ultimately reveal that there are no grey lines between an armed robber and a saint. The production quality was top-tier, very modern, with a touch of that polished Hollywood flair. The lead actress absolutely carried the story; I felt every emotion she went through, almost like I was living it alongside her. The entire cast delivered strong performances, and I especially appreciated the moments of South African humor sprinkled throughout. It felt authentic, true to how we as South Africans can find something to laugh about even in the darkest moments. That ending though… it broke me. Watching Balalwa's faith being tested like that, taking the life of the very person who brought her a miracle, left me questioning so much. Should she have waited for the surgery date, hoping for a miracle? But then again, what if no miracle came? It really hits on the daily tension so many of us feel, between surviving in this tough economy and holding on to faith in God. It was deep, thought-provoking, and honestly, I’m still not over it. I’d watch this again and again. We need a second season, or at least another story from this brilliant team! See more Read all reviews
