There is a lot of set up season 1 that I hope the writers use for season 2. It's good but still finding its own rhythm away from Yellowstone. It isn’t gritty, complex, or dangerous, it’s sanitized, juvenile, and written for people who think owning a pair of boots makes them interesting. Yellowstone understood that family, land, loyalty, and power are all weapons. Marshals understands none of that. It mistakes empty stares and cheap drama for depth, then reaches for the Dutton legacy like it’s entitled to it. It isn’t a worthy continuation. Each show exists to blow people up with machine guns. The acting is rudimentary and the dialogue is slapdash. It's as if a bunch of writers who grew up playing army video games got a chance to write a TV series, so they concoct a ridiculous conceit each week that allows the characters to have an excuse to shoot as many big guns at bad guys as possible.
