See more victor o 01/09/2022 I am a fan of some comic book animated series from either DC or Marvel. I caught this show on Disney Plus in the wake of having watched the Academy Award-winning Marvel SonyVerse film Into The Spider-Verse. Not in the same universe but I could not help it because I enjoyed watching the character of Gwen Stacy, known as Spider-Woman, and in this Disney Marvel Rising Series as Ghost-Spider. This is one of the Marvel Rising Universe short films series that is based on some of the more recent Marvel Comics stories of the era. The main character in this is Gwen Stacy aka Ghost-Spider, a female version of Spider-Man, in this case, it takes the alternate universe of Spider-Woman and has her be in a version of the main Marvel Universe. While this seems cool, I prefer if she interacted with Spider-Man given that in the main universe she was his love interest. But I guess in this Disney Marvel Rising take on the character they want to take advantage of her solo run even if it was an alternate dimension because it was supremely popular in its own right. I take it the name Ghost-Spider is due to her costume's white hood and mask giving a ghost-like look as well as a tongue-in-cheek reference to her initials. This story is a mini-series set up with the heroine juggling her life as Gwen Stacy with school, her garage band, and then her mission as Ghost-Spider with stopping crime, specifically avenging the death of her friend. This adaptation takes liberties with the comic, but it is well told, and I enjoy it a great deal. All this as she is hunted down by the police for being a vigilante as well as the death of her friend. Several heroes involve themselves in capturing her from, Quake, The Patriot, Squirrel Girl, and Miss Marvel. Make no mistake, Ghost-Spider is the main attraction and I got to say other than Quake, whom I have seen adapted in live-action on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, as well as The Patriot I got to say that the other characters are nearly as great. But I follow DC Comics, not Marvel. I do love Dove Cameron voicing the lead, as cool as the original Spider-Man but with a feminine quality that makes her as good as the original. I am happy that Chloe Bennet appears as Quake. Not a bad show. I am interested in watching the rest of this series. See more 10/14/2019 Trash characters = Trash show.
