Season 1
Mayor of Kingstown

Critics Consensus

Despite campaigning with a strong pedigree, Mayor of Kingstown botches its reelection chances by giving constituents too much gloom and grit and not enough reasons to care.

Rare series which showing both sides of criminal world. Hasn't any only good or only bad character. Actors playing - high level. Music - high level. Plot - not bad. Drama - pretty high. 8 dead junkies of 10

I highly recommend this show - it is awesome. What a joke the rotten tomato "critics " are. Seriously how do they give it a 20%. You should be fired. Look at the audience score.

These critics are a joke. Sure maybe the show is a little gratuitously gritty but other than that it's pretty good, definitely more like 9/10 than the 30% percent the critics gave it. I'm only 1 episode in. Is it perfect? No. But very much worth checking out.

This is a slow burn... great cast... well written... give it a chance... Taylor is on a roll.

I liked this show so far. Will continue to watch in spite of what the "critics" say.

I love this show. I'm so angry that at the stupid critics who are slamming it. These slobs will perhaps be the reason for this show getting cancelled. Death to the "good taste" critics who don't know their ass from their elbows. This. show. rules. The end.

    1. Critics.. you guys suck! You THINK you know what people want to see, (your 21% vs our 81%) you're obviously wrong. This show has the feel of The Wire, which you so called critics lambasted, yet it's being taught, and discussed in Universities all over the country. Now, back to Kingstown… this is a must watch for anyone who wants a visceral view of the Prison Industrial Complex, and how it affects everyday people. The truthful part of this is: there are no good guys. NONE. It's a compelling story when Hollywood pushes the simple narrative of "good vs bad", and the story wraps up every episode. This is not that type of story. This will keep you engrossed. This is thought provoking. This is not "escapist" tv. The writing is exceptional, the acting even better. Keep the episodes coming, and critics, find a new profession.
