Fun and informative enough that you want to tell people to watch it

Arguably about one episode too long, it nonetheless drilled down with panache into the semi-fascinating lives of a staple of American fiction.

This docu-series is fantastically gripping, enjoys incredible access and has everything: FBI agents, undercover stings, mob connections, wire taps, winners who turn out to be victims themselves.

It is the characters who carry the series, which is remarkably unstylish in execution and rushes through parts of the investigation where you might have preferred it to linger.

"McMillions" is a true-crime story that feels like a scintillating work of fiction.

Corruption is the subject of HBO's newest documentary, McMillions, a candid look into the rigging of a single marketing campaign, but also providing a window into how the corporate corruption we fear is perpetuated.

This documentary series was very entertaining especially agent Matthews who should totally have his own show.

If you can stick with this slow burn, the narrative and all the minutiae of the case will, like any half-decent procedural, reel you in.

The reasons to keep watching start piling up fast.

With the exception of actual footage from an undercover investigation, you could close your eyes, pretend this is a podcast, and it would be just as satisfying an experience. But what it lacks in aesthetics, McMillions makes up for in personality.

McMillion$ is filled with characters with a capital C, the kind who can recall specific decisions and moments with brutally funny frankness.

More entertaining and moving than much of the scripted fare across the broad spectrum of entertainment, McMillions is reality television at its finest.

The story behind McMillions is as delicious as a thick juicy burger. Yet like the criminal scheme at its core, the HBO documentary inspired by it proves a little too cute and clever for its own good.

If you've ever wondered why you never won more than free french fries while playing Monopoly, you'll want to watch this docuseries.

The filmmakers take a podcast approach, slowing down the action and throwing in extraneous detail to make what would have been a decent feature length story into a six part, six hour slog.
