[An] engaging new dynastic drama.

Nov 27, 2018 | Full Review…

There are outstanding performances from Hoffman and Madden and the pacing of the show means that it improves as it goes on.

Nov 27, 2018 | Full Review…

As artful as the premise sounds, the story is too dense, wrought with too many players and edited in such a way that it often feels rushed and thrown together.

Nov 27, 2018 | Full Review…

Are we really meant to believe that while the Medicis bought a papacy... they never made the connection between money and laundering? Like much else in this middling tale, it doesn't quite wash.

Nov 27, 2018 | Full Review…

Despite a talented cast, Masters of Florence immediately unravels to become a soap opera set in a Renaissance faire... The series goes too far to manufacture drama when the historical truth is more entertaining than the fiction.

It is a fascinating study of medieval passions and intrigue.

    Amazing True story of italy

2020. I finally got into season 1 by the time it was over. Then Netflixed stopped.!? WTH? So searched for the correct season 2. WTH PART 2. I started thinking maybe I had begun on the wrong season? Netflix has jacked up the correct episode/ season lineup before. After rewatching Season 1 episode 8 a second time and the first ten minutes of both second and third seasons in 2 and a half hours and not finding a logical season 2 opener I gave up. Seriously WTH? Life is hard enough right this year without Netflix jacking up season and episode orders without pre season or post season wrap ups. Holy crap, it's not supposed to take a PhD. It's Netflix a place to go relax and escape.

Loved, loved, loved it. Bingeworthy for sure!

Must watch! Outstanding production. Medici brings you back to Renaissance, in all its splendour and conflict. Politics and art are at the central stage. Great acting, costumes and texts. Great way to revisit history and art lessons, and then go back to look further by yourself. You don't always have a show where the main characters are of such historical significance. Some themes are still relevant today.

The De Medici Series was excellent. Entertaining and well-acted with some accuracy historically. The binging was very pleasant and was effortless. Keep bringing such fine work to Netflix.

Excellent series. Based on true events and following the lives, through subsequent generations (throughout all the seasons) of the Medici, a powerful family of bankers hailing from Florence. This is gripping from the first episode to the last and the presence of Richard Madden, fresh from playing King Rob Stark in Game of Thrones and Sean Bean likewise from playing Eddard Stark, not to mention such a celebrated actor as Dustin Hoffman, gives it just that little extra gravitas, not that the series needs it, as the production values are second to non. If you enjoy power politics, along with the inevitable corruption that goes hand in hand with it, combined with family feuds, medieval costume drama, beautiful people, costumes, sets and gorgeous views of Florence and Tuscany where the story is set historically and where it is also lavishly filmed on location, then this is for you. I am currently watching season 3 and can honestly say that it never disappoints. If you enjoyed Game if Thrones then this is a must watch. Not a fantasy drama but all the more fascinating because it actually happened.

It might not be the historical truth, but it's an entertainment not an historical show. I went to Firenze, Pisa, Milano and Roma and I love it. Toscane is a wonder, and this show remind me the Italian Spirit !!

Enjoyable to watch, although itâ??s not always historically accurate. Also thereâ??s a bit too much drama at times but still, itâ??s a good show.

I really liked this way more than I expected to. Richard Madden was incredible as Cosimo as was much of the cast. I am die hard Dustin Hoffman Fan but I didn't care for him in this role at all. Why didn't he act with an accent? But that's the real problem. He just wasn't believable for me in this role at all. It was wild seeing GOT actor David Bradley (Walder Frey) as Richard Madden's (Rob Stark's) father in law! That was wild. And then I see Sean Bean is Medici the Magnificent. I would highly recommend the show. It's interesting, exciting, fast paced & well acted.

Pretty mediocre, but the soundtrack carried me through the season.
