The first season of this sitcom from Tyler Perry follows patriarch LeRoy Brown (David Mann) as he deals with the dramas of his family, including daughter Cora (Tamela Mann), and troublesome residents of the retirement home for seniors that he runs with the help of his nephew Will (Lamman Rucker), a doctor, and Will's wife, Sasha (Denise Boutte), a nurse. Heiress London Sheraton (Arielle Vandenberg) causes a stir when she comes to Brown Meadows to complete community service for a DUI conviction. The arrival of two troubled orphans, Brianna (Brianne Gould) and Joaquin (Gunnar Washington), raises questions for Will and Sasha. Gruff ex-marine Col. Cleophus Jackson (Tony Vaughn) reunites with his daughter, sexual sixtysomething Ms. Edna (Juanita Jennings) deals with a friend's death, and aging B-movie actress Miss Daisy Dupe (K Callan) goes missing. Created and executive produced by Perry, the show is based on characters from the play and film "Meet the Browns."
