mik k @mikkie Jan 29 a very intriguing and gently provoking, drama. The magnificence of the steadfast Nordic scenery belies the problematic instability of the human condition. In a nutshell without giving too much away, there are several different stories taking place some of which the viewer is privy to and others which unfold as the drama unfolds. All of these stories collect in the middle of the midsummer celebration lunch where the tension threatens and erodes the very façade of what humans do really, really well - that is to hide their loneliness. It can also be seen as a comment on the sadness of how honourable men, when simply wanting to give to make their wives happy, often they find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Everyone has their share of things going on, every bit of struggle relatable so it wasn't a drag at all. It truly is an evening of big confessions. Love the casting choices and hope to see more of Amalia. A midsummer night filled with drama and ends with love. I like the precision in the storytelling not needing to overwhelm the viewer. Short episodes. I like that. Would've loved more landscapes though.
