SEASON:

Season 1
Mike Tyson Mysteries

Critics Consensus

A dizzying whirl of lowbrow and high-concept, Mike Tyson Mysteries should more than satisfy fans of Adult Swim's signature blend of animated silliness.

Critic Reviews for Mike Tyson Mysteries Season 1

All Critics (11) | Top Critics (7)

Tyson appears to be an incredibly good sport and MacDonald is truly inspired as a booze-guzzling bird. Mysteries never quite reaches the insane/inspired dimensions of Adult Swim's best series, Rick and Morty, but that's OK -- few things on earth do.

Tyson Mysteries is highbrow lowbrow lampoon, alternately smart and stupid, dizzy and disgusting.

There are some laughs to be had in this nonsensical series, but they can't make up for its glaring lack of basic entertainment value.

Nov 14, 2014 | Rating: 1/5 | Full Review…

Mike Tyson Mysteries isn't here to change the TV landscape, but it's certainly good for a quick laugh.

Nov 3, 2014 | Rating: 7.6/10 | Full Review…

The first mystery is literary, involving Cormac McCarthy and is pretty funny, loopy stuff.

Oct 27, 2014 | Full Review…

It's very odd, occasionally funny and probably intended to be watched when under the influence of illegal substances, which would surely make it funnier still.

Oct 27, 2014 | Full Review…

If viewers pass out while watching it, one suspects it won't be the zing of the jokes that delivers the knockout punch.

Mike Tyson Mysteries should not disappoint the Adult Swim audience, or anyone who tunes in out of curiosity.

I will probably watch as many of these as are made.

Mike Tyson reminds [Adult Swim] of it's roots with a cartoon as funny as it is edgy.
  • Feb 27, 2015
Unbelievably ridiculous and often very hilarious; a surprisingly great new comedy.
  • Feb 15, 2015
Amazing 1st season! Pigeon is definitely one of the best new characters on TV. And Mike is great for making fun of himself
  • Dec 09, 2014
I'm not meaning to sound cliche but this show is a knockout. I'm glad to see Mike Tyson is doing well. I was always a fan of his massive hits in the ring, this is one outside of the ring!

What even is this show? It's aimless and ridiculous but I can't stop watching.
