Mind Games' unbalanced pilot makes it pretty clear which part of the show Killen actually cares about. I admire him for wanting to give us our vegetables. But I also don't blame viewers for wanting more meat.

The most unlikely development of all -- in terms of behavior modification -- would be persuading more than a relative handful of viewers to watch Mind Games from week to week. Nah. Ain't gonna happen.

It's the promise of a more complex dynamic between the two [Ross & Clark] that could make Mind Games more than a pleasant diversion, and allow Slater and Zahn, two very capable actors, to dig a little deeper into these roles.
