Critic Reviews for Miracle Workers Dark Ages

All Critics (8) | Top Critics (4)

Miracle Workers: Dark Ages, though noticeably better than its predecessor, rarely rises above the level of sweet and easily enjoyable. That's fine.

Despite [Steve] Buscemi's weighty presence it still feels like a small comedy, punching below its weight.

The philosophical comedy may seem slight compared to The Good Place, but Miracle Workers reckons with many of the same questions about goodness and free will.

The cast, though, greatly outshines the writing, which goes for absurd and oh-so-random humor in a way that feels undercooked and oblivious to the humor that might emerge from the setting more organically... Still good for a giggle, though.

It's not trying to reinvent the wheel, and it really doesn't need to. What it does is create an atmosphere of fun that goes a long way, combining that with a medieval setting and characters that are flawed to the bone.

Jan 29, 2020 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

Miracle Workers: Dark Ages may not have that satisfying story arc that the show's first season has, but Viswanathan is a great lead and the characters are well-established by the end of the first episode.

A hilarious antidote for those who couldn't stand the fervor over Game of Thrones' final season.

It's a waste of the talent on-hand and a waste of time for anyone who's seen a Middle Ages-set comedy before.

Audience Reviews for Miracle Workers: Dark Ages

Film about anything. First season was perfect, but second it full shit. How could they make pice off sheets?!

I argue that if the first episode of a series fails to catch your attention, it's not worth your time. Well, the first episode of Miracle Worker's second season is a failure in tone. Your audience is not stupid, it's a parody, there is no need for an actor who acts like they are in modern feminist drama, looking at you Eliza. There is no need to blatantly express every modern message you have, we know. Look at Monty Phyton, you make fun of your subject, that's how you do parody.

This series is so funny, I laugh in every episode, Daniel in particular, is amazing as a Prince and is the main source of my laughter.

If you go in knowing that this season is not a continuation of the previous season in any way, shape, or form, then you will be pleasantly surprised. Geraldine Viswanathan is the heart of the show and is truly brilliant in her role of the Shitshoveler's daughter, wanting more from life. Daniel Radcliffe's character is hilarious as well. Karan Soni's expressions are always on point and super funny. Steve Buscemi is excellent as well. Highly recommend!

They took everything great about the show and flushed it. Season 2 doesn't have the same magic, it's just the same actors. There are jokes, some are mildly funny - but it isn't worth the time it takes to get to them. I had hopes before episode 1. I thought, maybe I just don't get it before episode 2. I couldn't be bothered to finish watching episode 3 - I was clearly wasting my time.

The first season of Miracle workers was alright, I liked the acting, the directing was good, the sets were not bad, and the story was alright. The second seasons of Miracle Workers, known as Miracle Workers: Dark Ages had me questioning whether or not I was going to like it in the first and second episodes, but it kept me watching, and now at Episode 3, I'm finding I really love it. The show is one of those 'perfect shows,' so far, in my opinion. There's literally nothing I can find to criticize about it!

    Is a beautiful show ♥

Pretty funny with a great cast. Would be fine if they kept the medieval setting going forward.

Not Funny.....Not Worth your time (Kinda like SNL these days)

Season 2 is pretty funny and works with a good middle ages fun. I definitely would recommend it.
