IrenaP P Nov 30 Loved the concept - I definitely fit into the target demographic but two things that are frustrating: 1) the mix tape concept unravels and is not well connected into the ending. The story is built on the mixed tape connection but this gets lost. 2) The Daniel O'Toole character is great, young and old. But the old and young Alison casting do not match well physically. The young Alison is excellent, but they just don't align in terms of colouring and accent. NB After the age of 8/9 it's very hard to lose an accent. it can get watered down but the Sheffield undertone should still be there. It's the details that undermine what is a lovely concept with a banging soundtrack. See more A S Sep 3 this is difficult. it's a quality production; well directed and produced. but the content is very painful; a romance is attractive, even with such a questionable plot, but there is so much damage, pain and trauma, both within and collaterally, from this one that I can't like it. See more Anne Aug 21 I loved this. I grew up in Australia and was a teen when this was set. The soundtrack represented my teenage soundtrack and how important mixtapes were in the 1980s and 90s. The acting was great especially the young Allison and Dan. See more Stevie C Aug 15 Nostalgic and heartbreaking in just the right measures. Perfectly captures the excitement of falling in love and takes you on a ride of high and lows. So it's all a little bit contrived, but it does not take away from the overall joy this series brings.
