Mythology, some dark arts and mystique all intertwined into a rather strangely fascinating cocktail. Very well written. Great cinematography. I loved discovering their different personalities, watching their relationship evolve, and gradually uncovering the trauma connecting them. Steven was particularly endearing, and the emotional revelations in Episode 5 were heartbreaking. The Egyptian setting, mythology, and afterlife sequences added fascinating layers, while characters like Layla, Khonshu, and the adorable Taweret made the journey even more enjoyable. The six-episode format kept the story moving without unnecessary filler, and I enjoyed both the mystery and action equally. The finale felt a little too conveniently Marvel, and Jake’s reveal leaves me wanting more, but this was a compelling, emotional, and highly entertaining series.
