What to Know

Critics Consensus

Moonhaven's depiction of a utopia is often more goofy than harmonious, although fans of idiosyncratic sci-fi will likely enjoy this trip to the moon.

... It’s refreshing that Moonhaven, for all its minor flaws, trusts viewers to make our own connections between the lunar colony, what little we get to see of 23rd-century Earth, and the various geopolitical cataclysms of today. Go to Full Review

The world-building by series creator and showrunner Peter Ocko is fascinating, as is Monaghan’s most unusual character. The thriller element isn’t immediately that thrilling. Go to Full Review

Moonhaven should be celebrated for what it is though, an original sci-fi story with an enticing cast. Go to Full Review

Moonhaven accomplishes the best of science fiction without the weight of pretentiousness or self-importance. It’s honestly a treat. Go to Full Review

At the end of the day, while Moonhaven is an interesting concept, and there are certainly moments in it that are beautiful and thoughtful, it can’t see the forest for the trees. It feels like it’s throwing a lot against the wall, hoping most of it sticks. Go to Full Review

harm m @old_main Jan 2 This show suffers from lost-itus. Meaning it is a pile of nonsensical mystery boxes that are either never opened or when opened will disappoint no matter what. If enough money is pumped into it and enough suckers fall for it then it can go on as long as "lost" went on but will inevitably disappoint and piss off everyone that wasted their time on it. The only thing good about this show is that the money ran out after season 1 and we are spared an endless stream of this nonsense. The premise is good and would have worked as a limited series that had a beginning, end and coherent story between them. It would have also solved the endless teasing without any satisfying payoff. Because as it is now it just feels like a boring stream of nonsense and when something finally happens the money ran out and show is cancelled. See more Brendon B. @americanbigelow Dec 24 It should be great. The idea is excellent. Unfortunately, there's not enough story for so many episodes thus it's boring. Also, the characters make dumb decisions which is annoying. Finally, it just ends with a setup for season 2. Nothing gets resolved. See more Luke D @RT83168873 Dec 21 AI meets namaste cult me retardation. Everyone involved in creating and writing this needs to be fired and blackballed from Hollywood. See more File T @File13 Dec 20 So far, very promising. Second grade acting but the dialogue makes up for this, hippie-speak notwithstanding. It’s worth heading out past the shallows for this one. The plot has hooked me; not at all as superficial as it first may seem. See more Luke R @TheHandofDestiny Dec 20 I honestly can't believe how they managed to mess up such a good idea for a Sci-Fi TV series. This is awful, the plot is beyond weak the actors are struggling to want to be there and portray any semblance of care I assume because they knew this was garbage after reading the script. This series ending is open ended leaving it open for a second season, no questions where answered at the end of S1 none. Please for the love of your time and not to waste it, do not watch this poor excuse for a Sci-Fi TV series, let this one fade into mediocrity. If you have already started watching just stop, it's not worth it. Trust me. See more morgan m @RT79546764 08/28/2022 Space hippy's on the moon singing, having drum circles, and putting the alphabet to interpretative dance. And now they will soon come back to Earth and tell us how to live in harmony with the planet. I get that this is Fiction, but there are limits to a story being plausible. It's only six episodes but somehow felt so much longer. Seriously, who green lights this trash. See more Read all reviews
