Fantastic series based on the Stephen King novel. Atmospheric, creepy, masterful storytelling with an outstanding cast. Not to be missed by thriller / horror fans even if you aren't a fan of Stephen King.
      • Oct 01, 2022
First season was great, then they went and turned it supernatural and ruined the entire story. I know they're just copying Stephen Kings book I've never read but what utter nonsense. No thanks
      • Sep 03, 2022
At least now it's clear why the finale of the first season sucked. All in all, Mr. Mercedes is a good series. However, don't expect any surprises. Gleeson is quite unsympathetic in the second season.
      • Apr 25, 2021
The first season was good, unfortunately the second season is exactly the supernatural, incomprehensible and useless show that is not worth watching.
      • Jan 24, 2021
This season took an unexpected supernatural route. This change was always going to be divisive, and it took me a while to really get into it. The cast still give great performances, but it isn't as tightly constructed, and doesn't fully grab your attention like the first. Still enjoyable thrills, but not as many as series 1.

Excellent followup to Season 1. Both are excellent adaptions of King's novels and although I was at first disappointed that they skipped Finder Keepers and went straight to the third novel in the trilogy, this marvelous slow burn of stellar story telling keeps you engaged. The characters, good and evil are all engaging and well developed. The real horror is how the medical field continues to play Dr. Frankenstein only to unleash a monster they are fully aware of.
      • Mar 16, 2020
Don't like the switch to the supernatural at all. Stopped watching after 5 episodes. Horrible.
      • Dec 27, 2019
Not at all as good as first season and definitely not as good as the book. What is worse is that they skipped through the second book and jumped to the third and also missing out a lot of what makes your pulse go faster in the book. Somewhat lackluster script/adaption of the book.
      • Dec 15, 2019
I loved the first season, but this is simply not the same show at all. Massive waste of the potential that the great first season established. First season was an engaging, down to earth, amusing (and at times shocking) show which sucked you into its world entirely. A splendid modern detective tale with a fantastic lead, antagonist and supporting characters. This second season ditches ALL of that in favour of supernatural, mind control lunacy which turns the world of the show into a laughable farce. If the 1st season highlighted the best of Stephen Kings writing, the 2nd trumpets his very worst excesses. Even Brendon Gleeson can't save this tripe..

Not as good as season one, but still a great show. This season took a bit to get going but the mystery and intrigue was there. Again, solid acting and directing.
