Mr. Mercedes one of the most sturdily constructed thrillers on television. Go to Full Review

One thing's for sure so far: This season will be a lot more surreal than the first. It will take a few more episodes to see how this all works, but color me interested. Go to Full Review

Lupe's Holly is an example of how an actor can, by actually inhabiting a role, make something better than what registers as a collection of occasionally endearing tics on the page... Lupe makes Holly funny, sweet, sad and surprisingly real. Go to Full Review

[The] finale is a cracker, by the way, full of twists and turns, and bowing out in a way that will leave you dying...to know what happens next. Go to Full Review

The program can still tell a tense, boiled down crime story with supernatural touches, it's just that this season requires a lot more patience. Go to Full Review

Mr. Mercedes may fumble a bit in the transition from hardboiled detective drama to supernatural sc-ifi, but the caliber of the performances and the commitment to character drama ensure that there's still plenty of reason to tune in. Go to Full Review

James M @Jamsey Feb 7 Based on some of the reviews here, I was totally prepared to be disappointed by this second season. But given it's based on the second novel in a Stephen King trilogy that grows increasingly "supernatural", the change in scope from the first season is appropriate, i.e., not a stretch. I found this season very entertaining. It retained all the key elements from the first - great acting, character development, good writing. Also, I wouldn't necessarily call the changes "supernatural", at least not in the way that word is commonly used. There's no mention of ghosts, spirits, entities, etc. Brady develops some unique skills after receiving some experimental treatments. That's about it. See more Ingrid B @Ingridb Feb 6 First season was amazing. Acting fabulous, story line compelling. A real nail biter. The second season is just to super natural to make it relatable and believable. Watched 3 episodes of season 2 and stopped. See more L. F @RT68678650 Jan 23 I was less keen on series 2 compared to the first - I'm not a lover of sci-fi and so struggled to get on with the more supernatural elements of the series. That said, I stuck with it and enjoyed the show more once those bits became less of a feature. I still love all the characters and cared about what happened, which tells me the performances were solid, despite the need for some suspension of disbelief when it comes to the plot. See more Les N @Vegas628 Jan 16 Became more supernatural, therefore less attractive...for me. See more Tom S @TomSmith Dec 19 If you can tolerate the bizarre supernatural lane-switch and associated plot holes, it's more of the brilliant first series, again driven along by Brendan Gleeson's masterful high-mileage underdog. See more Joe C @RT99558017 Dec 9 Its like a different show but with the same characters and not in a good way. Bill seems sidelined while minor characters are brought to the front which makes it difficult to maintain interest See more Read all reviews
