A complex case proceeds for a full season in this scripted drama, co-created by Emmy-winner Steven Bochco and newcomer Eric Lodal. Homicide detectives Terry English and Hildy Mulligan, partners in the San Francisco Police Department, head the investigation. English is a former Marine with plenty of experience as an inspector, while Mulligan is a sexy, self-assured officer who doesn't flaunt her attributes. Their relationship is strong and fearless because solving crimes is the top motivation. Fellow SFPD colleagues are thoughtful David Molk and his tough partner, Edgar Navarro, and the squad supervisor is candid Lt. Jim Koto.

If the second run of this utility player mirrors the performance of the first, English and Mulligan should be prepared to patrol the streets of San Francisco a while longer. Go to Full Review

As a drama that dedicates each season to a particularly murder-mystery, TNT's Murder in the First doesn't ever get as deep and nuanced as True Detective Season 1, but it also never slogs along... like True Detective Season 2 did. Go to Full Review

However much corruption and amorality Murder in the First uncovers, however many times it executes the sentimental heart-tug, it promises, in this second season, only a mild intellectual puzzle stretched over far too many episodes. Go to Full Review

07/26/2020 Season 2 was so good! And even better than Season 1. The development of two different major storylines that play out in ways that complemented each other and drove the suspense and pacing forward was truly compelling. What's more--the development of both major and minor characters' storylines was solid--so that you have sympathy for what makes them all tick. The stories are great, gritty, and human. Taye Diggs--can't get enough of. And the character played by Kathleen Robertson keeps unfolding--we see more of her brother relationship in this season. The scenes of San Fran are beautfiul and artfully filmed. A must see! See more 11/30/2015 Looking forward to season three! Anyone know if there will be a third? See more 08/25/2015 Love this show. It is refreshing not to solve a case in one hour each show and to show the work and dedication it takes to get to an answer and that sometimes they do not always get it right and are flawed. See more 08/17/2015 Excellent cast, great story lines, compelling drama See more 08/13/2015 Good story telling throughout the whole season. I like that its not a show of different episodes but one case that shows how they solve it. Every episode uncovers something new that moves the investigation forward or sets it back.
