This continuation of "Narcos" explores the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots, starting at a time when the Mexican trafficking world was a loose, disorganized confederation of independent growers and dealers. It's the 1980s, and Felix Gallardo takes the helm of the Guadalajara Cartel, unifying traffickers to build an empire. As DEA agent Kiki Camarena moves his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara to take on a new post, he learns his assignment is more challenging than he imagined. A tragic chain of events unfolds as Camarena gains intelligence on Gallardo and becomes more entangled in the mission.

As always, the series is made with great style, panache and respect, and there's a sinking feeling whenever a new innocent enters the frame, be she a teenage girl or an intrepid reporter. Go to Full Review

The third and final season of the Netflix series comes equipped with a new showrunner in Carlo Bernard and plenty of chaotic shootouts, double crosses, and narrative twists. Go to Full Review

The final season of Narcos: Mexico proves that the series remains the most cinematic show on television, no matter the iteration. Go to Full Review

It is uneven like the previous seasons, but the cast is still splendid and there are some very well put together action sequences. The musical selection, impeccable.[Full Review in Spanish] -Letras Libres Go to Full Review

Narcos: Mexico does have an ending, although it's a loose one that works both narratively and historically. I expect that this show won't easily be forgotten because, like the real-life saga, though, this tale will never truly end... Go to Full Review

To close the show without definitive assurances that the drug war is over is wise, because El Chapo may be serving a life sentence now in a U.S. prison, but Mexico continues to drown in a wave of cartel violence. Go to Full Review

Eduardo d @RT42522643 Oct 26 I don't understand all the bad reviews this season got. I just watched it and thougt it was superb. I, for one, loved the Victor story and how he goes out of his way to stop the murdering of women. The whole investigation of the links between the business moguls and the narcos was very interesting and, as always, loved the connection of what was depicted on the show to real events and real images. I'd love to see a new season hopefully to portray the "gold" era of el Chapo and his current imprisionment. See more James G. @trkythrston Oct 8 It just doesn’t hold up to the other seasons. Added fictional storylines got in the way of the actual story that we all watched the show for. See more Brian C @Ashleysdad26 Aug 19 I've never been let down by 1 episode of any NARCOS series and this one is just as good. Excellent from the first episode to the last. See more Jorge C @RT12284602 Apr 11 The first two seasons were incredible. They kept you gnawing on the seat with your buttocks. It would have been perfect if it had ended with Walt's visit to Felix Gallardo in season two See more Regina P @RT51358745 02/09/2025 Another good season but much less than the previous ones, mainly because of a slow and largely off-topic plot about a cop chasing a serial killer, which is irrelevant in a series like Narcos, and wastes a lot of time that could have been spent showing more of the war between the plazas and the rise of Amadio... I know that feminicides are a huge problem in Mexico especially in the 90s but this issue should have been dealt with in another series. See more JULIEN B @RT42375693 08/05/2024 While seasons 1 & 2 were superb, lots of suspense and good action, season 3 should never have been done. Its disorganized, slow and boring. I didn't even go to the end of the season, they should have stopped at season 2. See more Read all reviews
