This program is part of a PBS series that takes the viewer to some of the world's wildest and most scenic places. In this episode, the viewer travels to the northern latitudes of Scandinavia, where extremes in weather cause some unique adaptations by the animals and plants who live there. Spectacular photography shows both the wild and cultivated vegetation produced by the long summer days. In the animal kingdom, reindeer, musk ox, and the arctic fox all have their ways of adapting to life in the land of the midnight sun.
