Critic Reviews for NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1

All Critics (24) | Top Critics (14)

If Chris O'Donnell has a thousand faces, they all have the same expression, and it's asking why he ordered ranch dressing instead of creamy Italian.

NCIS: Los Angeles is as old as the hills - the Hollywood Hills, to be exact.

Top Critic

It all adds up to an hour of decent entertainment, and there's room for enough character development to give NCIS: Los Angeles a personality of its own.

Sep 22, 2009 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…

It's all about the crimes, the technology, the guns, and, mostly about not having - or wanting - to think too much.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" is butterscotch candy. If you're bored, and it's sitting in a candy dish in front of you, you might take one. But it's not anything you'd seek out.

Jun 15, 2018 | Full Review…

It's all about the energized action, the cool tech and the momentum, all of which made this a top ten show and the number two rated scripted drama in TV (right behind the original NCIS) in its debut season.

It was a surprising and compelling cliffhanger.

May 26, 2010 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

One could watch NCIS: Los Angeles. But one could also watch paint dry with far less pain and no less gain.

Sep 22, 2009 | Rating: 2/10 | Full Review…

The show has all the subtlety of a freight train.

Sep 22, 2009 | Rating: 1/4 | Full Review…

The show hovers around the intellectual level of a 15-year-old.

this series is the worst one i ever seen in my life
  • Jan 18, 2016
I don't like NCIS, so I shouldn't like this, but I like it better than the original because it uses comedy as an advantage.
  • Jun 01, 2015
I like it ok. I have to say for some reason I just dont like the original. I'll admit it can be a little corny at times but I don't ,mind it. It's not one of my favorites, but I'll keep watching for now. I am only up to season 4.

The first season of the spin-off of the great drama NCIS is a very entertaining and strong debut into the crime drama world. It has plenty of suspense, action, smart writing, and funny performances from its cast.
