About an astute woman who investigates cheating husbands and missing dogs, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency - with an endearing lead performance by Jill Scott - is actually kind of heart-warming.

It's as much of a love letter to the economically developing nation as it is a detective genre piece.

A beautifully shot, marvelously soporific, sporadically irksome miniseries that reads mostly as a pretense for a glamorous working vacation

Audience Reviews for The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency: Season 1

This is just delightful. Very leisurely paced. I had to slow my western self down to drink in the sights of Botswana which the author/screenwriter/director very obviously love. Great acting all around. I love that women in Botswana deal with the body-issue same as here. Very enteraining.
