Tv Season Info

In Season 1 of "Nobodies," Larry (Larry Dorf), Rachel (Rachel Ramras) and Hugh (Hugh Davidson) get on the wrong side of Melissa (Melissa McCarthy) and Ben (Ben Falcone) after lying about her involvement in a project. Meanwhile, Hugh gets close to Sam (Leslie Bibb), which annoys Rachel, but Larry sees an opportunity; and Howard (Michael Hitchcock) takes an interest in the group's ideas. Elsewhere, an exciting meeting with a director goes wrong for Larry, Rachel and Hugh when they realize he's brought Melissa along for advice; and problems working together lead the trio to turn to old colleagues for advice. Guest starring Kristin Bell.

Critic Reviews for Nobodies Season 1

All Critics (11) | Top Critics (9)

It's hard to envision Nobodies sustaining itself for even one season, let alone another one. The bumbling efforts to make Mr. First Lady a fame-and-fortune feature film already seem played out after just the first few episodes.

The series could live on its ample supply of good jokes alone, if only the nobodies were properly elevated in a story meant to be about them.

Comics struggle for success in this true-to-life series.

Nobodies is OK. Some of it is quite funny. And some of it really isn't.

Mar 29, 2017 | Full Review…

Yeah, it's amusing, but in a forgettable sort of way. Too much about it resembles too many other shows.

Later episodes, as personal business between the leads come into play, and wholly fictional characters arrive, do perk up.

Mar 29, 2017 | Full Review…

Beyond correctly identifying Hollywood's core insecurity and layers of inferiority complexes, Nobodies isn't committed to being satire or parody, nor is it especially insightful.

Mar 29, 2017 | Full Review…

Dorf, Davidson, and Ramras aren't interested in getting particularly deep. They are looking to provoke bigger laughs and more visceral cringes. And, for a few nobodies, they do a pretty good job.

TV Land's latest offering joins a small-screen mini-boom in what could be called the showbiz cringe comedy: a sort of scrappy, Louis C.K.-style backlot vérité.

Mar 28, 2017 | Rating: B | Full Review…

But even though Nobodies works from a familiar playbook and, like its bumbling heroes, can try a little too hard to ingratiate itself, it's still fun, zippy, and Seinfeldian in its ability to braid together plot based on various humiliations.
