Learning that major brands like Claire’s and J&J sold items containing these harmful substances was genuinely shocking. The film highlights how many people were put at risk without their knowledge. It ultimately left me rethinking the makeup and skincare products I use and how their ingredients could affect my health. This fact was explained by the evidence found that an ingredient called talc(an ingredient commonly used in make-up products) contains traces of asbestos. This documentary also exposes the use of talc in Johnson & Johnson baby powder and how long this company was keeping this information from public view. Documentaries like this are meaningful to me because they expose the dangerous truths of how often dangerous chemicals or materials are being marketed towards us in our society. After watching, I went back home and checked that all of my makeup products were safe from the harmful chemicals shown in the film. After I watching this film, I went home and took a quick look and web search on the ingredients on all of the products I use. I am now paranoid after watching but at least I am careful and I advise everyone to watch this for the benefit of your own health and life. It is absolutely horrifying to learn the chemicals some brands include in their formulas and how they can worsen a person’s health. The documentary showcases these issues raw and without filters, which I greatly loved. They give examples of people and emphasize the risks we take applying these products to ourselves. It is a much-watched documentary if you apply even mascara before leaving the house or use a random shampoo you buy from the store.
