"One of Us Is Lying" is based on Karen M. McManus' New York Times best-selling novel of the same name. Mystery surrounds Bayview High when five students walk into detention and only four walk out alive, leaving one dead just as he was about to reveal life-changing secrets about the others in a gossip app. Each of the students, Bronwyn, Addy, Nate and Cooper, had the opportunity and individual motives to murder their classmate, but all claim to be innocent as the case revolves around which one of them is lying.

Its a pretty classic whodunit, where everybodys a suspect and nobodys talking. By blending in teen drama refreshingly not sanitized to satisfy network censors it keeps things interesting while feeling comfortably familiar. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

See more olivia r @oraggio 06/04/2024 SPOILERSSSS: Honestly, I think this was a pretty decent high school murder mystery overall. It kept me engaged enough to watch the next episode and even had me placing bets on who was responsible for his death. Simon's death doesn't really make total sense though since he didn't really get anything out of Jake's dare or whatever. I also don't understand why Jake had the intention of killing Simon, but hey, still good overall. I like the show's use of stereotypes in the main characters and how we see a lot of their growth throughout the season. I think this show has the best character development out of many of the movies/shows I've seen. Will I watch season 2?
