The result is a grand fantasy adventure with The Pirates of the Caribbean as a too-simple comparison, since it doesn’t allow for Luffy’s superpower and the vibrant otherworldly detail. One Piece is uneven, but it’s committed.

You can summarize the fashion sense of One Piece as: imagine an article of clothing that anyone at any point in history who has lived on an island might have worn. Chances are that someone in One Piece dresses like this.

The worst crap I've ever seen. It's unwatchable. If it was supposed to be funny, it failed. It became embarrassing with every minute. Watching it, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Some people might like it, but I've seen a lot. This is currently last on my list. The cast is well chosen, but the story itself and the way it's presented seem like they did it on a shoestring budget. It's as if they didn't have enough money for better effects. The set design is like something from a children's theater, done on the cheap. The fight scenes are okay, but some scenes are so discouraging they give me heartburn. I promised myself I'd share my opinion after watching the whole thing, but after the first few episodes, it's clear that someone didn't put much effort into making this series. I don't know what there is to like about this series. The manga and anime are one thing. There, you can allow yourself to be silly, but in the movie... let's just say it's utterly embarrassing.
