No consensus yet.
It. Is. Awesome. I literally stood up and cheered.
While this wasn't a plot-centric episode, we did get a heapin' dose of character development regarding the Hendrixes.
We got a few more tidbits in the mystery surrounding Kira and Helena's babies.
"Beneath Her Heart" is the kind of episode that makes all the science and twists in Orphan Black have real meaning.
As someone who absolutely loves Alison, Orphan Black Season 5 Episode 3 was easily one of my favorite hours of the series as a whole.
Their irrelevancy aside, "Beneath Her Heart" is an important episode for Alison's psyche, its emotional gravity leavened by some of the goofiest, most cartoonish gags in the series' annals (including the revelation that Donnie is quite well-endowed).
I love how this entire episode was predicated on the concept of Alison's value: to the Neos, to her family, to her neighborhood, and to her sisters.
After being basically sidelined for two whole episodes, we finally got ourselves a serious dose of Alison this week -- and the mix of flashback and present-day dilemmas gave us greater insight into one of the original Clone Club members.
If last week's episode showed some of the downsides to wrapping up a five-season-long show, this week's shows what can go right.
