In its clearly well-considered final season, Orphan Black has wisely decided to give us several episodes that each focus in on one of the clone sisters.
Tatiana Maslany knocked it out of the park once again with her riveting, heartbreaking performance as the head of Dyad.
"Gag or Throttle" exemplifies what the show does so well: combines plot, character payoff, and great pacing with the consistently outstanding acting of Maslany and company.
In "Gag or Throttle," the arc crumbles after its structure is weakened by the sheer amount of time and content it's been stretched to cover.
"Gag or Throttle" was a deep-dive into all that is Rachel Duncan -- the series' most complex clone by a landslide. Remarkably, this hour managed to go a long way towards making readers sympathize with a character who was previously difficult to reconcile.
One of the finest aspects of Orphan Black has always been its ability to be about four shows in one.

This episode proved to be a great Orphan Black hour -- full of interesting plot developments with a few great twists.
