Gart M @ImTheGart Dec 11 Outer Banks starts out very strong with an insane plot and great actors. The overall tone of the show is really fun. The show is about a bunch of teens from North Carolina who all get into treasure hunting and will do whatever it takes to get their hands on treasure. There are lots of scenes which feel very intense and keep you on the edge of your seat, while some other scenes can be a bit repetitive. Whenever a new season would come out I would always watch it the second Netflix would release it since I was such a huge fan. I still am a fan of the show but definitely not as much as I used to be after watching season four. I wont get into any spoilers but I was extremely disappointed with the season four finale and some of the writing choices. I was somewhat skeptical about Netflix's response to one major change to the show in the finale too. I know I'm not alone when I say I didn't like season four but I still would consider the show really solid overall. See more Haley T. @scutiee Oct 6 I think they killed season four they did a really good job. Season four really captures the dangers of the Pogue’s adventures. When they lost one of their own, it really showed that what they were doing wasn’t an easy treasure hunt. This was a gamble on life at this point. In past seasons, they obviously experienced some tough situations, but they always escaped and never had too much bad happen. Whereas this season they made it very clear to the audience that there are real consequences and I think it really showed how dangerous the treasure hunt truly was. We love that there are so many shocking moments. Because of that we don't think that the series is predictable. There are a lot of heartwarming moments in the friends group. The only think we don’t like is that our favorite character JJ died at the end of season 4. We binge-watched that series, we think you should do it too. See more Mike M @MikeMadDog Aug 16 Although the setup felt forced, OBX: Season 4 had a promising start, and exploring JJ’s past added much more background to his character. The group dynamic isn’t the same anymore and now it feels more like different couples all hanging out with each other. Certain characters, especially JJ, make illogical decisions, and some members from the group are shoved to the side. The controversial death in the final episode was poorly executed, completely ruining the entire character’s arc. There was no reason for it to happen, and the antagonist, Groff, lacked a clear motivation. See more Read all reviews
