Helmi H @Milonkainen Feb 15 I watched the whole show with my parents. It was honestly really good, I really loved the clothing and herbal knowledge along with the mythical and historical points. I’m a sucker for medieval type fantasy and while this is not exactly that it’s still great. I can recommend it specially if you’re planning on traveling to Scotland. After years of loyalty, Lord John is brutally assaulted by Jamie under the guise of "honor." The script treats John's feelings as disposable, falling into the trap of using his devotion merely as an accessory to Jamie’s arc. It is repulsive to see a gay man’s life portrayed as inferior. The show implies that John must accept crumbs of affection and physical violence just because his love is "forbidden." There is a twisted "Moral Hierarchy" where Jamie and Claire’s feelings are sacred, while John’s sacrifices—which saved the Frasers countless times—are met with ingratidão and homophobia. Instead of a rightful rupture, we see a downcast acceptance that normalizes abuse. John is the most noble character in this series; he deserved an arc where he could send Jamie to hell and find true respect. A loyal, queer character is not a doormat, and this writing is a betrayal of their history. See more Carlos N @Can545 Jan 30 One of the finest and most well written series of all time. If you watched it from the beginning, the stories are fantastic and well thought out, with heartwrenching episodes scattered throughout. Claire and Jamie get separated, there is a valiant attempt to get them reunited, rinse and repeat. Also there always seem to be chance encounters but not sure how real that would be in that era. Overall still pretty good but getting a bit predictable. See more Connie L Aug 29 The acting and overall production of this series has been one of the best entertainment experiences ever. I frequently rewatch the early episodes. There were a few storylines that weren't as compelling as others, but overall the story of Claire and Jamie and Frank and later Brianna and Roger has been great viewing. As stated in other audience reviews, season 7 has felt like a return to form. Hello, Lord John Grey. Nice! The adult William actor was excellent. Hope to see more of him. Sam Heughan and Caitrionia Balfe should have won best acting Emmy's. See more pan m @Panmel May 11 Only observe that Diana Galbadon wrote the story of Outlander in 9 volumes, and understand why the last 2 tv seasons feel so crammed and higgledy-piggledy jam-packed ... Love the story of Scotland, brutally colonized by the infamous British army, of Jamie and Claire, their chemistry, their open-mindedness, their talents and their family, the refreshing review of history, the magnificent landscapes and broad cultural horizons, but what this really deserved was at least 9 seasons and probably a few more.
