The best series of 2022, I can't wait to see more.

A beautifully poignant story of identity, sacrifice, and survival; Pachinko is the multigenerational story of a Korean immigrant family's resilience, in spite of the adversity that faced them. Watching Pachinko reminds me of what separates GREAT tv from good tv; great tv is one with both emotionally compelling storytelling, and one that capitalizes on its technical elements such as cinematography, dialogue, and score to help push its narrative forward. Pachinko does just that and more.

By and large, one of the best shows I've watched. An excellent exploration of culture and its loss, the brutal effects of discrimination, and the bonds of family. There are some storylines that never really seemed to pay off, but I cannot wait to see the next season.

A piece of history is captured flawlessly in this mini-series, and the emotions especially angst and hope depicted vividly. This inspires us to want to revisit and film and watch more of our own historical pieces. Also, the drama is quite exquisite and mellow than what the trailer suggests, or maybe the narration is so on point and perfect spanning across 3 generations that it begins with hope, wades through love and angst and ends up a poignant introspection on the impact of the world and personal histories.

Why is it that if South Korea produces an anti Imperial Japan movie its well received, when China does it, it is considered propaganda? Both are hitting the same topics and awareness, but somehow everything China does is put to scrutiny, but South Korea gets praises while China has endured the same atrocities by Imperial Japanase as Korea has, maybe even worse.

Really terrific series I can't wait for season 2

There are some things about this series that are great. The story is good, the acting is good. I feel that if you're Korean you may be able to relate to the story and history better, but I'm still enjoying it none the less. I LOVE the opening sequence with the cast dancing to The Grass Roots song Live For Today is one of my favorites of any series ever.
