CANCEL THIS SHOW ! Terrible personality to host a show that he made ( otherwise would have never been made ) A self centered man who thinks he knows everything and he is cruel . It has nothing to do with instructional painting but all about him and his narrow minded opinions . Sorry John - But everyone can paint when they choose to pick up a brush !! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder .

There is no easy way to describe "Painting With John." In fact, I am not sure it can be described. It is that unique. I think that is why I enjoy it so much. There are days when I need something to pull me out of the hell of depression of everyday life. I can watch an episode of John painting, talking and letting us into a bit of his life and smile, laugh and ponder. Yes, ponder. John offers us a bit of humor, a touch of philosophy, a dash of sentimentality and a bit of unspoken advice... take what life offers you and run with it. Live it. Thank you, John.

Wow. Even as a joke this man is not funny. At all.

Watching this show is calming and meditative. John's paintings have a childish, doodley charm to them, and seeing the close-up shots of his brush hitting the paper, while he recalls funny anecdotes from his life, adds a humor to it all that leaves you booming with laughter, yet strangely pensive at the same time. I wish they made more episodes; this show is fun to watch.

Please keep this show on forever. When I was quite young my favorite show to sort of meditate and chill was "Fishing With John". Now, when the world is even crazier and times are stressful, "Painting With John" is my welcome meditation. Keep that Lounge Lizard busy please!

If you liked watching Ozzie and Sharon, it is kind of like that but take out one of them. I wouldn't watch more than an episode of this guy talking to himself while he paints.
