It's decent B-grade stuff with some entertaining character actors, not least Silas Weir Mitchell as a mentally disturbed fireman who knows too much. Go to Full Review

Half-baked Southern mystery series has some violence. Go to Full Review

The details of the mysteries are mostly unclear and the dialogue is full of portentous-sounding nonsense. Go to Full Review

03/06/2021 I loved this show and was so disappointed it is not being renewed, particularly after the unfinished ending with no real resolution or fallout. I had been looking forward to this show since I happened to visit the plantation house they used as their house in the show just the week after they finished wrapping filming and the tour guide was telling us about it. I made a note to look for it and forgot about it until I saw it advertised on Spectrum. I tuned in mainly to see the house and where everything was filmed but was addicted after the first episode. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Southern gothic, but this show had a great mystery and vibe to it. It was all the things I like - small town secrets, eccentric town people, mystery and a touch of supernatural and a lot of conflicting characters and agendas. I read a Josh Hartnett interview where he expressed it was one of the best scripts he ever read but was disappointed with the execution. While I loved the show, I can imagine it could have been fleshed out even more, which would have made it even better. I hate that it ended on somewhat of a cliff hanger, but also maybe that's a good thing, as I find sometimes these types of shows can only be good for so long before they have to start turning crazier and crazier to up the ante. They left it on a good note, where it was crazy but still believable. See more 10/25/2020 I enjoyed the show , kept me trying to figure out what's going on. See more 07/30/2020 Poor writing, poor acting, poor directing. Definitely no Ozark. See more 05/03/2020 A little slow to start but stay with it!!! Great series & very intriguing mystery. Can't wait for season 2! See more 05/03/2020 Loved it, really hope there is another season. Last episode left so much more of the story to resolve. See more 04/27/2020 I'm trying.... I'm trying....I'm REALLY, really trying....really I am, to get into watching this show. I'm trying to figure out what the hell it's about and I feel that, even if someone took the time to explain it all to me, I still wouldn't care. I don't find any of the characters interesting and the main character is so stiff and wooden, she's really too boring to watch. What would make this show better would be to fire the amateurish director, hire some interesting writers, add decent music, keep Nick Nolte, and write a compelling story. See more Read all reviews
