Lisa Weidenfeld Boston Globe 06/13/2025
No one is getting bundled up in a warm blanket and having a cup of tea to discuss the case. But there is something cozy about its vision of a world of people who strive so much to appreciate and understand someone who’s different from them. Go to Full Review
Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times 06/13/2025
Not everything makes perfect, or even imperfect, sense. But as always, the plots are there almost as a pretext to spend time with the characters, and the whole cast is good company. Go to Full Review

The cases themselves are interesting enough and sometimes pivot around an amusing premise. Go to Full Review

Really does over-egg the degree to which Patience’s autism is a disability for her … [but] I really enjoyed the way her police colleagues come round to her way of thinking; they start to value her, help and accommodate her in ways that aren’t patronising… Go to Full Review

The weakness of the opening episode was that it took too long to bring the two women together. Go to Full Review

While Patience isn’t much different from a dozen shows on air now, like those shows it is driven by a charming lead performance from Ella Maisy Purvis and a desire to support PBS. Go to Full Review

Rick B @Rick1000 Jun 1 A pale immitation of the original Astrid. Infuriating tropes unrelieved by pretty pictures of York Minster. See more Mike D @MikeinOkehampton Feb 15 This is one of the most adorable programmes on tv at the moment. Not so much about the plots but for the characters. Well done channel 4 See more Kat D @Kat_D Jan 21 One of those series that, to me, doesn't seem to need to exist. You can just watch the original. It's better. Use subtitles if you can't understand French. Maybe I would have liked the show if I hadn't already seen Astrid but I just couldn't get interested in it. See more Kathye K @RT19002828 Dec 31 A new series that I have enjoyed more than any other in the last few years. I enjoyed the portrayals and the complexity of characters, they didn’t try and simplify the contradictions you have within autism. See more Greg H @Osevon Dec 29 Not a patch on the original and I note the OG director had a hand in this. Entertaining a pity that they mirrored the original plots as it makes it less interesting than the original. Patience's autism isn't as severe or obvious as Astrid's and that takes away from the series. See more Sky D @SkyDRocks Oct 28 A warm-hearted view of autistic people trying to assimiate in society. Ella Maisy Purvis is wonderful as the title character. I surely long for a secind season! See more Read all reviews
