Critic Reviews for Peaky Blinders Season 3
All Critics (7) | Top Critics (3) | Fresh (7) | Rotten (0)
This is a drama at that imperious stage where it's hard to go wrong -- confident in its storytelling, secure in its character development and trusting the audience to join them.
Peaky Blinders is an easy series to admire, as it's literate, great looking and great sounding (the Nick Cave soundtrack is sublime) yet I cannot like it, let alone love it.
With its billowing smokestacks, moody lighting and charred scenery, Peaky Blinders puts every penny it has to good use, and more than stands up when watched back to back with a Game of Thrones or a Mad Men.
A highly efficient piece of entertainment, full of inventive storytelling and heroically unafraid to go over the top when necessary - which is apparently quite often.
This terrific series has many strengths, not least the music, but one standout is the unflinching way in which it contrasts the worlds of power and money with the grubby, ripped fingernails of appalling violence necessary to achieve them.
One thing Peaky Blinders does well is to keep several pots simmering... season 3 has done a remarkable job getting all those posts arranged and steaming away, while still giving the series and its characters a welcome sense of progression.
It is sheer TV poetry in motion, and after you binge the six new episodes you'll be begging for more.

Dec 29, 2020Excellent scenes, the writing is getting worse though
-
Nov 27, 2020Carefully written, well-developed, and solid direction. Each season has its own plot and complexity. Action packed, often barbaric. Most of characters has roles to play backed with superb acting. Music is a letdown, but it gets better from S4 onwards | follow us at @uncle.review

Jul 09, 2020Third time's definitely a charm, extraordinary show!
-
Jul 08, 2020Peaky Blinders seems to get better each season, outstanding acting, plot and scenography.
-
Jun 19, 2020This season is very intricate. It deals with the mounting oppression of the looming Great War, as well as the Bolsheviks' rise to power lead by Vladimir Lenin. Tom Hardy reprises his role as the extraordinary Alfie Solomons, and Arthur and John are tested as well. Tommy is shown the power of the Odd Fellows, Economic League, Vigilance Committee, Section D, whatever you would like to call them from Father John Hughes.

Jun 14, 2020For sure one of the best TV series I have watched in years. Strong characters and very well told story.
-
Jun 04, 2020Another epic season!it was shocking, intense, thrillingly awesome.the visuals and the music with soundtracks the whole production design was literally work of art just like previous season, the story-line was suspenseful and awesome, the only bad thing of the series is that the starting season episode's whole intro and all was confusing and too fast paced to gasp although as per story moving forward the main elements was remembered apart from that this story-line was more towards politics even then it was very closely to the family members, the whole politics and the things happened in episode was pure shocking it was outta nowhere, this season's Thomas Shelby was literally disturbed and in pain throughout the season great to see his variation and dedication to family, the ending episode is literally a completely insane end it was awesome and shocking, whole season was insane and next level to previous season's it was just like the episodes with each one its getting more and more exciting and awesome,it was a Masterpiece season!
