With a charming central trio, an intriguing quest and plenty of magical moments, this faithful reboot is a fun (if familiar) family-friendly fantasy. Go to Full Review

What I like most about this adaptation of the first novel in Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy series is that it speaks to the audience the books were written for: younger primary school students. Go to Full Review

The novels are agreeably zippy, and Percy is an engaging character. On the screen, the wonky FX detracts from the charm. But those over Harry Potter and still looking for a magic-wielding underdog in whom to invest will find lots here to enjoy. Go to Full Review

The quirks that make the book such an outlier in the fantasy sphere have all but disappeared... If the distinguishing features of something are gone, what is left but a plain reminder of what could be and what you once experienced? Go to Full Review

@Kaleia 5d Very childish. These kids don’t even know what a Percy Jackson is. Should’ve did a more older version . I like the movie better imo. & the acting sucks . See more Gononan B. @Bamba628hebh 5d Season 1 of Percy Jackson & the Olympians is an exciting and engaging adaptation of the first book, The Lightning Thief. The show follows Percy Jackson, a twelve-year-old boy who discovers that he is a demigod—the son of Poseidon—and gets pulled into a world full of Greek gods, magical creatures, and dangerous quests. From the very first episode, the story hooks viewers with its mix of adventure, humor, and mystery. One of the strongest points of the show is its characters. Percy is funny, brave, and easy to relate to, making him a protagonist that viewers naturally root for. Annabeth and Grover are both well-developed, and their friendships with Percy feel real and meaningful. The cast as a whole does a great job bringing the characters from the books to life, balancing the epic fantasy elements with relatable teen struggles, like fitting in, finding your place, and discovering who you are. The visual effects are impressive for a TV show, especially the depictions of monsters, magical powers, and Greek gods. The show does a good job of mixing mythology with the modern world, making it exciting without being overwhelming or confusing. Even viewers who haven’t read the books can easily follow the story and enjoy the action, humor, and suspense. Season 1 also does a great job pacing the story. Each episode builds on the last, gradually revealing Percy’s powers, the challenges he faces, and the secrets of the gods, while keeping plenty of moments of humor and lighthearted fun. The finale leaves just enough mystery and excitement to make viewers eager for the next season. See more Parker R. @p.j.ross2016tcu 5d I thought this movie had good acting, but the story was not good. It wasn’t a complete story. See more Delfino M. @DonFino Jan 18 This show was very mediocre. The acting was not good, nothing in the show ever pulled me in to be invested or interested in what was gonna happen next. Everything in the show was too easy and convenient, there wasn’t really any conflict or real obstacles. The show felt rushed in story line, and abysmal in production value. Good show for kids 13 and under though. See more Fidi F @Mikusav Jan 16 I was worried the adaptation would be 1 : 1 a book series, but I have to give it to them, as someone who read it, they can still surprise a lot. See more Riley K. @Primeditz Jan 14 It’s certainly good and not a bad take on the series but it needs to stop trying to say it’s a faithful adaptation of the books, it’s closer, way closer than the movies at least but still not a super faithful adaptation.
