A
It's sweet, self-deprecating, wise -- exactly the right tonal mix for Please Like Me in general. Go to Full Review
Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe 10/16/2015
Please Like Me is gently groundbreaking, but not, as it might have been once upon a time, because it revolves around a gay man. The show offers a new way to portray mental illness on TV that isn't tense drama. Go to Full Review
Inkoo Kang Los Angeles Times 10/15/2015
Kind, observant, and naturalistically hilarious, the series... is also a deeply resonant portrait of stumbling toward adulthood and dealing with mental illness in the family. Go to Full Review

Here in the third season, we get the sense that everything's going to be OK -- Josh, Tom, and Alan even repeat this mantra in unison -- even if there are more storms to weather. Go to Full Review
Allyson Johnson The Mary Sue 05/05/2016
Finding the perfect balancing act of being biting, sweet, and hilariously funny, the show has an effortless charm, appealing to the masses by putting normalcy, (real normalcy, not sanitized normalcy) on-screen. Go to Full Review

Kathleen H @RT20191880 03/17/2023 I truly adore this show. It can make one person feel one thing and another something completely different. For example, i am not a huge fan of Arnold, I can't say why without spoiling but I just don't think he's good enough for Josh. I don't think he's ever been. But someone else could love Arnold. I also don't always like Tom, he's been very manipulative and lied, cheated, and just done a lot of horrible things. He's definitely not someone that I would seek out as a friend. But that's the writing, they do this on purpose so you get invested. It is a really, really great show and if you're hesitant to watch it, please just do it, you won't regret it. See more 12/14/2019 This drama is the best of the entire TV series. Especially, I love this season 3. I can't count how many times I have watched this series. Actually, I don't know how to describe why I like this so much because this story is not only the thing the main character, Josh is gay. This drama is described as Josh's friend, family, boyfriend and a lot of people he has met. My favourite episode is struggling with everyone arguing about Adele which is a male roaster, whether or not they eat him. At first, I thought how crazy this episode was. Nevertheless, this episode has a serious problem that most people have never seen directly the process from animals to the meat. So this episode is included reality. And after killing Adele, everyone sits and try to prey for Adele because they feel guilty and they don't know how to vanish their feeling. Therefore, they sing 'Someone like you' of Adele. In my opinion, this scene is the best whole TV drama series. This drama has a lot of humour, besides melancholic. The balance between humour and melancholic is miraculous.
