There’s lots of blood, sweat, and tears in the series – but not enough of the Sussexes to make this anything other than a dull indulgence about a rich person’s pursuit. Go to Full Review

Yet despite such father-son dramas, it’s hard not to shake the feeling that you’re watching the equivalent of a large, expensive coffee-table book. Go to Full Review

It’s clattering and niche, and feels like a spoof documentary designed to play on screens in the background of episodes of Succession. Go to Full Review

Polo is a mostly boring look at a sport that very few people outside of elite circles have any particular interest in. Go to Full Review

Charlotte P @RT66760478 Jul 13 An utterly grotesque series. As a lover of horses, I was hoping to learn more about the sport, but what I got instead was a reality TV show based on wealth, privilege, entitlement, vanity, and indulgence. The bond between human and horse is extremely special and powerful, but this aspect of horsemanship is completely absent. Players jump from horse to horse without displaying a modicum of affection or gratitude. Players discuss smashing into each other. Horses are referred to as ‘it’. Horse lovers, really? One individual in particular, Louis, does not understand horses or horsemanship. He might win more games if he concentrates more on developing a bond and compassion with his horses - learning their names would be a good start. The series lacks any depth or substance, but it does provide insight into a lifestyle that values wealth, vanity, and status above all else. All it does for the sport is shine a spotlight on how cruel it is. If this is Polo, they can keep it or better still, ban it. Astonishing how abuse is allowed to happen in plain sight in the name of wealth and power. All the levels of work and participation by every type of person and especially the horses involved. What I saw: surface, soap opera of the insular world of privileged, self-centred, ultra-rich players/owners and their vanity sport. See more J. S @jsmit70 03/20/2025 I wanted to like this, but very dull and slow. People in the show are not any I felt interested in or wanted to learn more about. Mostly they are out of touch super rich, indulgent and generally unlikable characters. Only managed to get thru 2 episodes. See more Robert J @RT69127647 03/08/2025 "Polo" on Netflix was a fascinating watch. It’s a sport I’ve never really thought about, so getting an inside look at the game and the people involved was eye-opening. The series does a great job of making polo feel accessible, showing the dedication and skill behind it. It’s ridiculous that some people are trying to speak negatively about the show when, in reality, it’s bringing attention to a sport that has long been seen as exclusive. Every sport can become financially out of reach for some, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be explored and appreciated. This series is a great reminder that learning about something new can be both interesting and worthwhile. See more C M @RT23690067 03/08/2025 Apart from the ever delectable Polo brand Face of Nacho . The whole show is another pointless Sussex exercise in wealth flaunting . Look , we know that those horses are mistreated in some instances and we know that their lifespan is limited due to this sport. It’s a relic of an age when ppl were ignorant to the suffering of fellow sentient beings. See more Mia M @RT67326864 02/20/2025 Really bad and full of cruelty towards animals..
