KATSEYE features parts conventional to any reality-based competition format. But there is also added pressure, because the music industry people casting and training these hopefuls are also expected to be successful. Go to Full Review

You won't see a lot of interpersonal cast drama or polished group performances here, but you'll certainly see the hard and often unglamorous work and sacrifice it takes to make it in the profession. Go to Full Review

Rob L @RT65275883 Sep 8 it's the perfect nexus of capitalist greed and kiddie porn, really something for everyone, sexualizing minors, while minors watching are sexualized. Fame is kind of thrown in as a really sh*t-licious topping. Can imagine all the basement dwelling peados, watching the series in eternal rewind, screen shots. F @RT68678650 Jul 19 I found it really hard to rate this show as there were actually some things I enjoyed about it - mostly watching the girls develop their skills & form strong friendships. Sadly, I just can't bring myself to rate the show higher due to the fact that the process felt SO exploitative and gross. I'm sure some people will argue that the show is merely reflecting the cut throat industry & unrelenting standards of the professional dance/K-pop world... but that's exactly what's so awful!!! Watching adults being emotionally manipulative to teenagers/very young women & manufacturing them into their subjective view of feminine energy & appeal, is absolutely not ok & shouldn't be normalised. The fact these girls dedicated 2 years of their lives to the process, away from their families/support networks (some with language barriers which are not always accommodated for), are unpaid, get conflicting criticism/"feedback" thrown their way daily, are kept in a constant state of anxiety/ competition/uncertainty/people pleasing, & their bodies pushed to the point of injury, is totally unacceptable. At one point it's casually revealed that one of the girls is only 14 years old!!! A few episodes in & it all starts to feel very cruel & damaging. Then, just when you think it can't get tougher on them, the girls are suddenly treated like cannon fodder to be torn down by the public (receiving comments mostly referring to their looks & where they come from) without meaningful, ongoing safeguards being put in place to protect them or support their wellbeing. The fact that the girls didn't know they would be entering a fan voted "survival show" right from the beginning means they were denied the opportunity to provide informed consent to the process. How is all of this allowed?!! See more Angelique C @RT22260922 Jun 13 I don’t usually like any reality shows, but this one caught my attention and I was invested. It was interesting to see the work that goes into creating a truly good group with real talent. But at the end I was let down and basically disgusted. This girl group was not built on true talent, reliability or dedication. The fact that someone who was unreliable with mediocre got in over those with more dedication and work ethic just broke my heart. How did this one person overcome ‘real’ talent! Oh because she has a good online presence or a pretty face or an aura? Was it based on diversification? We will never know. But at the end of the of the day it was not fair and was sad. There were far better talents that were overlooked and you cannot call this girl group K-pop. Their songs may try to emulate k-pop, but are NOT K-pop. They are just a girl group and when I heard their song on the radio today called Gnarley, well I was so far from impressed. Yeah hard pass. Not all girls are born perfect but have true talent, but they are outshined by others. This is sadly a reality that has always been and clearly will never change in a materialistic world. See more Kyriaki V @RT51051914 May 18 Brutal talent competition with no moral backbone. The only thing worthy about it is the sisterhood the premise of the "show" is designed to crush. Very disappointing because they don't tell you straight away what they're really about. Yuk. See more Molly D @RT64023267 01/05/2025 This show is so awful I made an account just so I could warn others. Is it a reality show? Documentary? Competition show/survival show? What the f*ck is this? Wealthy execs exploiting 20 teenagers and proceeding to terrorize them for 2 YEARS while they milk them for free labor. Big Y2K vibes in the worst ways See more Read all reviews
