Ai Weiwei: The Fake Case

Episode Info

A vérité look at Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, whose opposition to his country's autocratic rule led to his secret detention for three months in 2011. Following his release, he's tried on trumped-up charges and sentenced to a year of house arrest. Despite the potential for further recriminations, he can't help but to slam the government. He also displays an impish humor, inviting the men who spy on him to parties; and installing webcams in his home so that everyone can join the surveillance team.
