I can't even explain how amazing this is. The CGI is great in most of the times, the music is amazing an memorable, the concept is incredible and it's very accurate. There are some animals that should not appear in the time period that they're shown in, but in general it's still very scientifically accurate. The dinosaurs, pterosaurs, aquatic reptiles and other animals all look great and are very well represented, being shown, differently from many other documentaries, as what they are, animals. I lived this show and can't wait to watch the second season.

Probably the most awe-inspiring look at dinosaurs since the original "Jurassic Park", Jon Favreau's "Prehistoric Planet" not only shows the most currently understood look of the dinosaurs, but also their likely behaviors and personalities.

The best documentary about dinosaurs ever made. Does not portray them as monsters, but complex, living animals. Incredibly scientifically accurate and realistic, with great OST by Hans Zimmer and awesome narration from Attenborough. A must watch for any dinosaur fan.

2 seasons and 10 whole episodes' worth of content and I can't recall one scene that was remotely engaging. No memorable music, predation was laughably neutered, the CGI was crap from start to finish, and the dinosaurs honestly never felt like they weighed more than a feather, you really have to try to make a fight between two 60-ton Titanosaurs have the same impact as a quarrel between two kitchen mouse, the camera never even shakes once, and there are no dynamic camera angles either, there's just no creativity or filmmaking at all compared to Walking With Dinosaurs, where creatures would nudge the camera, knock it over, or roar into it spraying spit all over, it was so engaging and helped to immerse you in the scene, but not here, it's as if the entire team made sure to have this be as stagnant and soulless as possible. I legitimately felt as if my life force was leaving me as I kept watching, it was so obnoxiously boring. What a waste of a series.

What makes this doco series such a success is not so much the CGI creations, but how they make this seems as realistic as any Attenborough nature doco out there.

stunning animation and excellent narration. The documentary dig deeper to the unpopular dinosaurs instead of just sticking with the mainstream ones which is very educational. The information is also thoroughly selected. 100%

Definitely not a show for kids

Why is there a crow in S1E3? Ball drop. Otherwise, I like the show and can only hope it's not terribly speculative.

Signed up for AppleTV just to see this without even consulting with google or RottenTomatoes first. With Sir David Attenborough narrating, you know it's gonna be good. The series from beginning to end is amazing,a virtual carbon copy of Planet Earth, but with Dinosaurs. I cannot stress how good this series is,I've watched it 3 times so far,it will never get old. With season 2 right around the corner,I simply can't wait. I'm glad the creators of this series consulted with those intimate with the prehistoric creatures,it's not often something that looks so good has science to back most,if not all of it up.
