Amateur fashion stylists and designers compete to craft the best possible clothes while attempting to cope with various thematic, material and time constraint challenges. Challenges include fresh takes on materials like fake fur and concepts like the classic cocktail dress, a color-themed team challenge, and one where the competitors are in charge of dressing stars of another reality show. Having been on the air since 2004, "Project Runway" has provided some professional designers, including Christian Siriano and Leanne Marshall, launching points for their careers.

Season 21 was "the most talked-about season of Project Runway," Heidi Klum says on Project Runway 22. That's like saying the most-talked about cuisine of the year is the lettuce torpedoing its way out of colons because it's been spiked with cyclospora. Go to Full Review

Gregory V @GreggVallarta 5d The producers, starting with season 21, have systematically ruined this once epic series. Viewers don't tune in for the catty drama and backstabbing, they tune in for the designs, which are on a back burner for season 22. Bring back Michael Kors and Nina Garcia and get rid of Tyra Banks and Law Roach. Law Roach is a vile human being and should not be a judge. Go back to the origins of the show if you want to keep viewers interested. This new format doesn't work and people are tuning out. The only bright side is Christian Soriano, who truly offers honest and helpful advice to the designers. See more Julie S @Fin5123 Aug 11 Why is Tyra on my screen - enough of her - be gone See more Robert A @rabraham Aug 11 Stop trying to turn it into the RuPaul’s Drag Race of fashion. The original inspiring and uplifting format was the one we fell in love with. See more Milo B @RT16552150 Aug 9 Fueled by fake drama, very low focus on the actual design process (like it used to), and relying on idiotic cliffhangers, in which no one feels cliffhanged. I feel sorry for the talented contestants there. See more Doree C @RT15077997 Aug 8 I have watched every season of Project runway. This has been the worded. Law Roach is nasty. He has such an attitude. These designers have come from so many hardships and he just tears them down. And then he is arguing with Tyr. It’s disgusting and ghetto. They are only making clothes what are you so mad about? And you can tell when he hates someone like Joseph Mcray. I say take Law Roach off Fire him and put Nina back. I’m just going to skip what the judges have to say and go straight to the end. And why aren’t they showing them shopping at Mood any more? I liked that. See more Sabine M @RT12497601 Aug 8 Ach, Heidi, das ist unter deinem Niveau. Watching nearly half the designers lose this enormous opportunity almost as quickly as they were given it was heartbreaking. Dreams crushed, creative people devastated—and somehow Heidi smiling through it as if this were the fun part. It wasn’t. And that feeling carries through Season 22. Too much cattiness, too many exaggerated reactions, too many moments trying very hard to become moments. This isn’t edgy or current. It’s cheap. And painfully dated. Christian DOES give good advice. Sometimes really good advice. But the head held high, hands behind his back, "I have spoken" thing is getting a little much. Tim Gunn never seemed to forget there was a human being behind the design, trying to create something intensely personal at ridiculous speed. His kindness never softened the creative tension. It gave it depth. Heidi, somewhere in all this producing, you forgot the most interesting part: there are human beings behind all that creativity. See more Read all reviews
