I didn't go into this expecting to learn why people are attracted to conspiracy theories generally, which seems to be what some of the critics expected. It gave me exactly what I wanted - to see and hear from some of the people who believe in QAnon, understand how, where and why it all started, and to find out who is behind it. I think it's very well-done and have watched it multiple times. See more 08/03/2022 Come to the point already! Like the last 2 HBO documentaries I've watched, there is good information, but I couldn't finish the 1st episode due to pace and repetition. Like many Wagner operas, this needed a good editor. Could be 1/6 or 1/3 the run time! Chernobyl - great, not too long. > Netflix's 3 Mile Island documentary. Gaming Wall Street - good but 2X as long as it needed to be. Crime of the Century - some useful info, 1/3 as long would be right. See more 07/19/2022 I am stunned that the critics' ratings are as low as they are. This docuseries is one of the best I have ever watched. The docuseries does NOT hold a point of view or demean anything related to Qanon, and simply allows them to say their (absolutely insane) peace. The series touches on the concept of free speech and if true free speech is a good thing from the perspectives of some very interesting people. The series demystifies Q/Qanon and does so in an unbiased manner which is critical for trying to understand these people. The assumption is condescending. Almost everyone under 40 will already be familiar with Pizzagate, 8chan, Q, and the bizarre "very online" culture the filmmakers explore. Now we get a rare portrait of the secretive weirdos behind this phenomenon in a story that has all the breathless drama of the best True Crime. See more 12/12/2021 The rampant and easily demonstrable lies are not challenged at all by the filmmaker which leads to a feeling of legitimacy for these idiots as they skate through using falsehoods and mistruths espousing their destructive and violent world view.
