I was surprised to see so many positive reviews. Top level this is an action drama show and the highlights are undoubtedly Reacher giving the bad guys a good biffing, which he is admittedly very good at. However the problem is there aren't any other levels. The plot itself and the acting aren't too bad. However the dialogue is quite unrealistic and also predictable. It's a bit too obvious early on who the bad guys are and what turns out to be the three musketeers vs the evil empire gets very wearing. It's all people rushing round in cars from clue to clue and crisis to crisis. If you would like to see the Terminator in a Dukes of Hazzard series, this is for you.

Season 1 of Reacher is loyal to its source material, smartly fresh for those familiar with it, and anchors itself with excellent casting. Alan Ritchson (and I'll say it till I'm blue in the face) embodies the titular character with affable confidence, heightening the brutality of the well-paced action which comes with its own crisp choreography. A dash of twists here, some bonding there, and Reacher joins a short list of properties that should be regarded as the templates for adapting something to small or big screens. Have you ever read any of Lee Child's Reacher novels? No? Then get started, you won't regret it. Yes? Then you've certainly loved them. These novels are addictive. And finally! A TV series that features an actor who looks the part and plays Reacher well. I loved this first season. I can't wait for the second. And I sincerely hope there will be many more. If you like thrillers and action series, don't miss this!

Great series featuring a badass ex military guy trying to uncover why his brother was murdered. Ok supporting cast but Alan Ritchson carries the show.

Much better than the movies. Finally a believable giant of a man portraying Reacher like in the books. Tom Cruise did the character a disservice. Can't wait for season 2 to begin shortly

When I envision the Reacher character (I've been an avid fan for years), Alan Ritchson fits the bill. I just couldn't see Tom Cruise as Reacher, no matter how good an actor he is; too small, too dark haired, too verbose. The first season of Reacher (series), which I just finished, was really good and left me wanting more & anticipating the upcoming release of Season 2. At first, the acting was kind of stiff, but the actors loosened up after a few episodes once they "found" their character. However, let's get real: Reacher is a pretty wooden character (though not one-dimensional). He's a man of very few words, moving through the world like a bull in a china shop. He's a one man wrecking crew that says little with words, and more with his fists (guns, cars, random pieces of wood). Thanks to Prime for finding an actor that brings the book series Reacher to us in living color.

Sooo good!! Reacher is a terminator with a good heart, unbeatable. Enticing storyline too, good to see a little gore which ya usually miss out on in shows similar. We are eagerly awaiting season 2, be another good one seeing his past and how he came to be a terminator man!

I was going to give it less stars, but I managed to watch it all the way through. Pretty average & something to watch whilst scrolling the net. Good story but could do with better actors & writers, all a bit corny. It reminded me of the A Team but with lots of killings!
