After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth's doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn't as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that's not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Recasting its titular pair with fairly seamless results, the famously unpredictable Rick and Morty settles into a holding pattern that nevertheless still yields plenty of amusing invention.

This last seven-episode run has been one of the series’ best -- weird, creative, gross and emotional. Go to Full Review

Whatever character voice is necessary, Rick and Morty still has it, even if its comedic voice isn’t on its strongest possible display at the start of the new season. Go to Full Review

Season 7 moves in the opposite direction -- re-centering Rick and Morty as the leads without seriously evolving them and once again sidelining Summer and the Beths to give Jerry more time on screen. Go to Full Review

Season 7 is unwavering and confident, and ditches the sad and over-the-top grossness that has turned off viewers in the past. Go to Full Review

Michele A @michele732 Jan 8 There are too many things that are wrong here. The new voices of the protagonists are ok, kudos to the two new voice actors, but the writing is thrash. Let me think what can have a correlation with that. - They fired Justin Roiland even though charges were dismissed. - Jenny Slate had to step down since ‘Black Characters Should Be Played by Black People’, but we should accept the black Cleopatra, the black Lupen, etc. That is a double standard. - They want us to think that, if Unity dumps Rick and Rick later ghosts Unity, Risk is wrong and Unity is such a good person. That is one more double standard. So many other things are wrong. starting with Rick being a whiny weak person. This show was a waste of time. Find writers that are not on the far left. The show's clever wit and wordplay are gone. See more Tonya K @Tonya_The_Kitsune Jul 21 The replacement for Rick&Morty voice acting wise didn't change anything about the show. Still the same great show it has been since the beginning See more Soheil J. @sojafha Jul 8 Season 7 is boring and lame. See more Read all reviews
