Archie Andrews starts the school year with the world weighing on his shoulders. He's decided he wants to pursue a future in the music business, but his recently ended clandestine relationship with the music teacher has left him without a mentor, and his friendship with Jughead Jones is in a bad place. Things look like they might be turning around when Veronica Lodge, a new girl, arrives. Despite the instant chemistry, Veronica is hesitant to risk a friendship with Betty -- who has a crush on Archie -- to pursue anything. Amidst all the small-town banality lurks a mystery: the recent tragic death of Jason Blossom, the twin brother of beautiful and popular troublemaker, Cheryl.

"Chapter Seventy-Seven" doles out challenges to the main romantic relationships rather than basking in the heat they radiate, and still, there's plenty of warmth to defrost the loyal viewership after making it through the frostbitten wasteland of 2020.

The show's not exactly starting off with a bang, but it's nice to see that the writers are willing to wrap up the past season properly, rather than squeezing it into a cold open coda before throwing fans into the unknown.

Riverdale is far from logically consistent, but at least stay true to your characters. And if breakups need to happen before the time jump, at least come up with a good reason to do it.

The series begins to lose strength and history, unfortunately the mess begins and it gets worse in subsequent years.

I gave up on this season after few episodes. Nothing makes sense. Everything sounds stupid. They should’ve stopped at season 4 or even 3.

Completely crazy. The characters got very devalued, it wasn't even necessary to have more seasons, because there isn't any more stories they need to tell.
